Mr. Pinkesh K. Jain is a distinguished Joint Controller of Patents & Designs, Patent Office, Government of India, with over 24 years of experience in the Indian patenting system. He has held several key positions, including National Coordinator for Patents and OSD (Technical) at the Office of the CGPDTM. His expertise encompasses patent examination, prior-art analysis, patentability assessment, opposition matters, IPR awareness, policy coordination, and strategic planning. An Electronics Engineering graduate and LL.B. from Mumbai University, Mr. Jain has completed WIPO’s General Course on Intellectual Property with 95% marks and undertaken specialised training with WIPO, USPTO, JPO, NLU Delhi, and IIT Bombay. She is part of the Leadership team of TCS Corporate IP & Engineering Group and is responsible for establishing and maturing corporate IP governance processes and systems for TCS, customer and third-party in IP products, platforms, solutions and services. She also works closely with different TCS business units to guide them on IP creation & protection, risk management and assetization; enabling them with IP and software engineering best practices and compliance to IP commitments and establishing IP linkages in TCS offerings. She regularly interacts with global IP ecosystem stakeholders, including industry and professional bodies, government agencies, and other organizations, to promote collaboration, policy interventions, and ecosystem maturity in intellectual property. She has also represented TCS on the technical advisory board for the Indian Patent Office and has been associated with Licensing Executives Society International (LESI) since 2014.
